Charm of Transitoriness ~ short films at Goethe ~ 30 Sep

Karachi, a city with 18,000,000 inhabitants is facing the same problem that Berlin faced in 1989: a boom in construction work and no preservation for the historical infrastructures. Berlin controlled the problem properly keeping in mind the value of these antiques in the next generation.
The old buildings of Karachi should also be preserved in the same manner. To create awareness amongst the Pakistani public, Goethe-Institut Pakistan is presenting 10 video clips that captures the historical places of Karachi and the interior Sindh.
~ from the Goethe-Institut events
The films, made for the Goethe-Institut, will be screened on September 30, 2009 at 7 pm.
at Goethe-Institut, 2 Brunton Road, Civil Lines (lane next to CM House/Sheraton Hotel). Tel. +92 21 5661633-6.
The invitation card is attached. Hope to see you all there!

Denmark Pakistan school exchange
Hi,
please see the Danish contribution at http://globalelangkaer.blogspot.com/ and the Pakistani one at http://karachiaarhus.blogspot.com/
this was a lot of fun! among other things coming out of the discussion, we realized the colourful Danish school bathrooms were actually the work of creative Danish school kids and not administration
